Shillong, October 14 : Ranji Trophy action will return to Shillong for the 2025-26 season, with Meghalaya set to take on Mizoram in the plate group at the MCA Ground in Polo here from tomorrow morning. The match will begin at 8:30am and spectators are welcome.
One of the state’s most prolific batters, Kishan Lyngdoh will lead the team once again, with fast bowler Akash Kumar Chaudhary the vice-captain. Moisten Ch Marak has been named as head coach.
Ajay Duhan has been retained for a second season as one of Meghalaya’s guest professional players, while Rahul Dalal has been roped in as a new face. The appointment of both has received BCCI approval. Rahul, a batter born in Haryana, has previous experience of playing professionally in the North East, having represented Arunachal Pradesh until 2023-24.
Meghalaya are in the plate group this year along with Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur and Mizoram. The top two teams from the round robin stage will face off in the plate group final.
