Shillong, September 13 : The Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong honored ten teachers from various schools in Mawlai for their outstanding contributions to education. The ceremony took place at Mary Mount Higher Secondary School, Mawtawar, on Wednesday.
The honored teachers represented St. Francis D-Assisi Secondary School, O.M Roy Memorial School, Christ Church Secondary School, Sunrays Secondary School, and Umshing Presbyterian Secondary School.
Rotarian Biju BP from the Rotary Club Trivandrum South served as the chief guest. He emphasized the importance of teachers not only in educating students but also in reaching out to those who lack access to education.
Students from Mary Mount Higher Secondary School provided vibrant performances during the event. Other teachers, school staff, and well-wishers attended to support and celebrate the contributions of the honored educators.
The Rotary Club of Orchid City praised the dedication of these teachers and acknowledged their significant impact on shaping young minds in Mawlai.
