Shillong, February 19, 2025: The Meghalaya Education Department has announced that all educational institutions in seven districts will remain closed on February 21, 2025, on account of the General Election to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
The affected districts include East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, East Jaintia Hills, and West Jaintia Hills.
The decision was made in pursuance of a notification issued by the General Administration Department on February 18, 2025.
The order applies to all educational institutions within these districts, and the closure is to facilitate the smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections.
