Shillong, January 17 : Residents of Shillong are advised to prepare for disruptions in traffic flow on January 18th and 19th, 2024, as Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah embarks on a two-day visit to the city. Security measures for the VVIP visit necessitate temporary traffic restrictions, including:
- Stoppage of vehicular traffic at various locations: Specific locations experiencing traffic blockages will be communicated closer to the visit date.
- Limited road access: During the VVIP’s movements, only one-way vehicular traffic will be allowed on the designated route. Overtaking and lane changes will be strictly prohibited.
- Emergency service priority: Emergency service vehicles, such as ambulances and fire trucks, will be granted unrestricted access and facilitated passage.
