Shillong, March 25 : The Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Pynursla Civil Sub Division, has issued a public notice announcing the temporary closure of a stretch of the Shillong–Dawki road for vehicular movement.
According to the notice, the affected stretch near Mawlieh (chainage 35+350 to 35+450) will remain closed on March 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM onwards until further notice. The closure is necessitated due to planned blasting and restoration works.
The works are being carried out by M/s YFC Projects Pvt. Ltd. in joint venture with M/s Ace Constructions as part of Package II of the Shillong–Dawki road project.
Authorities have urged all commuters to avoid travelling through the affected stretch and to use alternative routes wherever possible until further updates are issued.
The administration has issued the advisory in the interest of public safety and to facilitate smooth execution of the ongoing infrastructure works.
