Shillong, March 17 : Shillong is gearing up to host the 7th Act East Business Show from March 25th to 27th, 2025, at the State Convention Centre, attracting participation from 12 countries and focusing on bolstering trade and investment with ASEAN and BBIN nations.
The flagship event, organized by the Government of Meghalaya in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce, will highlight key sectors including technology, agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. The inaugural session on March 25th will be addressed by Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, and will feature senior government officials from India and high-ranking diplomats.
The event will showcase Meghalaya as an ideal investment destination, emphasizing the state’s progressive policies, robust infrastructure, and proactive governance. A focused exhibition will display potential investment avenues and business synergies.
Diplomats from the Philippines, Germany, Indonesia, Cambodia, UAE, Japan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and other countries have confirmed their participation, along with business delegates from their respective nations. The Indian business community will also be present, exploring potential investment opportunities.
The event will feature three key sessions:
- Empowering Growth Through Technology & Innovation In Meghalaya: Discussions on IT investments, emerging technologies like AI and Blockchain, and an Investor Connect session linking investors with Meghalaya-based startups.
- Making North East India Export Hub of Agriculture, Livestock, Food Processing and Manufacturing:Exploring North-East India as an export hub, with insights on export promotion and trade facilitation.
- North East India Travel, Tourism & Hospitality: Spotlighting the region’s tourism potential, with a focus on digital innovation, sustainable tourism, and public-private partnerships.
The event will conclude with a Valedictory Session outlining strategies for sustainable economic growth and regional cooperation. Over the three days, B2B, B2G meetings, and match-making sessions will benefit the business community, exporters, startups, and FPOs/FPCs of Meghalaya.
