Shillong, July 31 : The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in association with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India, will be organising the Special Mediation Drive – Mediation ‘For the Nation’, in furtherance of whether the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority will be holding similar mediation drive in the State under the guidance of Justice I. P. Mukherjee, Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, Justice H. S. Thangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman, MSLSA and Chairman MCPC and Justice W. Diengdoh, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Chairman, HCLSC. A 90 days intensive drive to settle pending cases in all the Sub-Divisional Courts, District Courts and the High Court including District Council Courts in Meghalaya through Mediation.
All parties having cases in the categories namely; Matrimonial Disputes, Accident Claims, Domestic Violence, Cheque Bounce, Commercial Dispute, Service Matters, Criminal Compoundable, Consumer Dispute, Debt Recovery, Partition, Eviction, Land Acquisition and other suitable civil cases, who have received notice of their matter being referred for Mediation may kindly participate in the said mediation drive.
Therefore, all parties having cases under such categories, which are at present pending in the High Court of Meghalaya, District Courts, District Council Courts, may kindly explore the possibility for taking up the matter in the said Mediation drive. This was informed by the Member Secretary, Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
