Shilong, January 03 : Police are investigating a series of theft incidents reported across Meghalaya in the final days of December 2024. The incidents span various locations, including Shillong, East Garo Hills, and West Garo Hills.
Shillong Attempted Theft: Tengham G Momin reported an attempted theft at his quarter in the MLA Hostel (Staff quarters), Police Bazar, Shillong, on December 29, 2024. Unknown individuals broke into his residence but it is unclear what, if anything, was stolen.
East Garo Hills Equipment Theft: Basishtha Thakuria filed a complaint regarding the theft of an RRU (likely a Radio Remote Unit, used in telecommunications) valued at approximately ₹1.2 lakh. The theft occurred on December 28, 2024, from a tower located at Bamil, Mangsang, East Garo Hills.
West Garo Hills Motorcycle Theft (Tura): Silsan Marak reported the theft of his motorcycle (ML-08K-3673) from Jerusalem, Tetengkol, Tura, West Garo Hills, on the morning of December 30, 2024.
West Garo Hills Motorcycle Theft (Purakhasia): Nengjin Sangma reported that his motorcycle (ML-08E-0964) went missing from Purakhasia, West Garo Hills, on December 31, 2024, around the evening.
