Shillong, October 22 : The Meghalaya team will play Chhattisgarh in their first match of the Sub-Junior Boys National Football Championship (Tier 2) on 26 October in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh.
Meghalaya and hosts Chhattisgarh have been drawn with Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh in Group C.
The 20-member squad plus support staff left for Narainpur yesterday.
Only the top team from each of the four groups will progress to the semifinals, making every match a crucial one for the young Meghalaya boys who are eager to demonstrate their ability on the national stage and win honour for their state.
Dapmon Tariang has been appointed as coach, with Teibor Dohling the assistant coach, Kmenlang Shylla the manager and Elderson Warbah the physio.
