SUPPLY OF COMMERCIAL LPG IMPROVES, PRIORITY TO ESSENTIAL SECTORS : GOVT ISSUES UPDATE

Shillong, March 30 : The Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Government of Meghalaya has clarified that there is no shortage of domestic LPG supply in the state, with the situation remaining stable and normalised.

According to official data, a total of 22,094 domestic LPG cylinders were distributed across the state between March 25 and 27. On March 25: 5,558 cylinders, March 26: 9,662 cylinders and March 27: 6,874 cylinders. Officials stated that supply has normalised, with smooth distribution across districts.

The government informed that Non-PMUY consumers Refill booking after 25 days and PMUY consumers Refill booking after 45 days Consumers have been advised to follow the prescribed cycle and avoid panic booking.

The supply of commercial LPG is showing steady recovery, though still facing some constraints due to national-level caps. Distribution is being prioritised for essential and high-impact sectors, with support from key gas agencies across the state.

A total of 68 truckloads of LPG were received during the period, indicating improved coordination with oil marketing companies and better supply chain movement.

The Directorate assured that There are no major supply gaps, Domestic demand is being fully met and Commercial supply is improving steadily. The public has been urged to remain calm and continue normal consumption practices.

Authorities are conducting daily inspections and real-time monitoring, with regular reporting to the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
