Shillong, March 26: In a significant step towards promoting mental wellness in the state, U_Matter on Thursday launched its U_Matter Self-Care Collection at PRIME Startup Hub, marking the first initiative of its kind in Meghalaya dedicated to emotional wellbeing, stress management, and mindful living.
The newly launched collection is designed to encourage consistent and intentional self-care practices, helping individuals develop emotional awareness, self-reflection, and mindfulness in their daily lives. The initiative adopts a holistic approach to mental health, focusing on long-term wellbeing.
At the heart of the collection are two key products — the U_Matter Self-Care Journal and the U_Matter Self-Care Kit. These tools are aimed at guiding users in building healthy routines and maintaining emotional balance through structured and practical approaches.
Speaking at the launch, Riyaka Surong, Counselling Psychologist and Founder & Chairman of U_Matter Multipurpose Co-operative Society, said the journal offers a flexible framework for reflection, helping users process thoughts, identify emotional patterns, and build resilience. She added that the collection was created to make self-care accessible and meaningful, enabling individuals to integrate simple yet effective practices into their everyday lives.
Complementing the journal, the self-care kit includes curated elements aimed at promoting relaxation, grounding, and intentional self-care. It encourages users to create dedicated time for rest, reflection, and emotional reset.
Founded in 2021 in Shillong, U_Matter is a women-led, youth-driven mental health initiative working to normalise conversations around mental health and expand access to psychosocial support across Northeast India.
