VIKSIT BHARAT SANKALP YATRA ATTRACTS LARGE CROWD IN MEGHALAYA’S KHYNDAI LAD AND DON BOSCO SQUARE

Shillong, December 04 : Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY)is continuing its inspiring journey across Meghalaya witnessing successful engagement with local communities, spreading awareness and empowering individuals with knowledge about various social welfare and development programs.

In Shillong the Urban IEC (Information, Education and Communication) Van carried out camps today at Don Bosco Square and Khyndailad (Police Bazar). Residents of the two areas and nearby surroundings joined the yatra in large numbers. Under the IEC campaign, camps were organised to offer services like free health checkups, on-spot facility to get issue Aadhaar cards and update the existing cards. The residents also came forward to get new LPG connections and AyushmanBharat  health cards issued, and loans sanctioned under PM SVANidhi scheme.

As part of the nationwide campaign, the specially designed IEC van, through multimedia content, created awareness among the general public about various programmes, schemes and initiatives of the government of India to improve people’s lives in Meghalaya.

On the occasion, a pledge Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra to make India a developed and self-reliant nation by the year 2047 was administered to the participants. Certificates were also distributed to the beneficiaries of PM SVANidhi.

Viksit Bharat SankalpYatra, which was launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on November 15, 2023, aims to reach out to public to create awareness and attain saturation of welfare schemes on sanitation, essential financial services, electricity, and access to LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, and proper nutrition and reliable healthcare. The Yatra aims to cover over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, thereby touching every district of the country.
