19th State Aquatic Championship to be Held in Shillong on July 3–4

Shillong, June 12: The Meghalaya Swimming Association (MSA) has announced that the 19th State Aquatic Championship (Swimming) will be held on July 3 and 4, 2026 at the Crinoline Swimming Pool, Shillong. The championship is expected to bring together swimmers from across the state to compete in various age-group categories.

According to the MSA, the competition will be conducted in three categories — Sub Junior (11–12 years and 13–14 years), Junior Group (15–16 years and 17–18 years), and Open Category for boys and girls aged 13 years and above.

Participants will compete in a range of swimming events including Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly Stroke, Individual Medley, Freestyle Relay, and Medley Relay. The Junior and Open categories will feature events up to 200 metres in Freestyle and 100 metres in Breaststroke and Butterfly Stroke.

The Association informed that online registration for the championship will open on June 13 and close on June 26, 2026, at 10:00 PM. No entries will be accepted after the deadline. Registration will be accepted only through the online registration link and QR code provided by the Association.

The Meghalaya Swimming Association has urged interested swimmers to complete their registration within the stipulated period and participate in the state-level championship. The event is affiliated with the Meghalaya State Olympic Association and is expected to serve as an important platform for identifying and promoting swimming talent in the state.
