Shillong, September 16 : In a step towards providing more facilities to the patients of the region, NEIGRIHMS inaugurated its Pharmacy on 15th September 2025. The pharmacy, located on ground floor of the OPD block will help the patients visiting NEIGRIHMS avail various medications atdiscounted rates.
Speaking on the occasion, Director NEIGRIHMS, Prof. (Dr.) Nalin Mehta said that this milestone marks our commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services, enhancing patient convenience, and ensuring timely access to quality medication. In addition to routine medicines, efforts are underway to ensure the availability of various costly consumable and devices at the NEIGRIHMS pharmacy. The pharmacy will also help implement cashless treatment under PM-JAY & Megha Health Insurance scheme and other health insurance schemes that areoperational at NEIGRIHMS.Â
Medical Superintendent, NEIGRIHMS Prof. Suvamoy Chakraborty, pharmacy store in charge, doctors and other staff were present at the inauguration ceremony. Prof. Nalin Mehta congratulated the Medical Superintendent’s office and staff of the pharmacy store section for the initiative towards facilitating better health care at NEIGRIHMS, with the opening of the Institute Pharmacy.
It is pertinent to note that NEIGRIHMS also has AMRIT Pharmacy and Jan Aushadhi pharmacy in the OPD block that have been serving patients for many years.
