Shillong, April 24 : In a tragic incident arising from a domestic dispute, a man allegedly killed his wife before taking his own life on the night of April 23, 2026, at Kurikhal Mawblei, under the jurisdiction of the Dorbar Shnong Majai.
According to sources, the accused has been identified as Ashish Dey. Reports indicate that an argument broke out between the couple, which escalated violently. Allegedly losing control in anger, the man assaulted his wife, leading to her death.
Later, upon regaining composure, he reportedly panicked and, overcome with fear, took his own life by hanging from a tree near the roadside close to their residence. Authorities are expected to investigate the incident further.
