Missing Khasi Minor Traced in Bengaluru, Safely Returned to Shillong with Police Assistance

Shillong, April 25 : A 16-year-old Khasi girl who had gone missing from her home was successfully traced in Bengaluru and safely brought back to Shillong following coordinated efforts by the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Bengaluru Unit and local police.

According to the KSU, the minor had reportedly left home and did not return for over a week, prompting concern from her family. Acting on the matter, members of the KSU Bengaluru Unit, along with the girl’s mother, approached Bellandur Police Station and registered an FIR under the provisions of the POCSO Act.

Police officials, under the leadership of IPS officer Iada Martin Marbaniang, extended assistance and ensured that all necessary procedures were carried out to support the case. Following investigation and verification, the minor was traced and appropriate steps were taken to ensure her safety.

After completion of necessary formalities and inquiry, the girl, along with her family, was sent back to Shillong safely.

The KSU expressed gratitude to the police authorities, particularly Iada Martin Marbaniang, for facilitating the process, including assistance with travel arrangements. The organisation also acknowledged the efforts of its Bengaluru Unit members and its president Donboklang Nongphud for their coordination and support in successfully resolving the case.
