Overloaded Vehicles Banned on Dawki Bridge; Pynursla SDO Issues Order Under BNSS

Pynursla, April 27: The Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Pynursla, has issued a prohibitory order restricting the movement of overloaded vehicles over the Dawki Bridge, citing safety concerns and risk of structural damage.

According to the official order issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), trucks and commercial vehicles carrying boulders, goods, or materials have been directed not to exceed the permissible load limit of 9 metric tonnes while crossing the bridge.

The order follows reports from the Public Works Department (PWD), which indicated that several vehicles were violating load restrictions and transporting materials beyond the bridge’s capacity. Authorities warned that continued violations could lead to serious incidents, including possible collapse of the bridge, disrupting connectivity and endangering lives.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate G. Warjri stated that the directive aims to prevent further deterioration of the road and bridge infrastructure. Any violation of the order will attract strict action under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and other relevant laws.

The order has been enforced with immediate effect across the jurisdiction of Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, and officials have been directed to ensure strict compliance.
