Shillong, May 5: The Meghalaya Government has approached the High Court of Meghalaya seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi alias Bitti alias Bittu in connection with a criminal case.
According to the order passed by the High Court in Criminal Petition No. 47 of 2026, the State of Meghalaya filed the petition challenging the order dated April 27, 2026, passed by the Sessions Judge, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong in Bail Application No. 93(T) 2026 connected with Sessions Case No. 41(T) 2025.
The matter came up before Justice W. Diengdoh on Tuesday. Appearing for the State, Advocate General A. Kumar, assisted by Government Advocate S. Laloo, submitted that the State was aggrieved by the lower court’s decision granting bail to the respondent with certain conditions.
