Shillong, May 6: The Meghalaya Government has announced that admissions to all Government Colleges in the state will be conducted exclusively through the Meghalaya Common Admission Portal (MCAP) from the academic session 2026-27 onwards.
According to a notification issued by the Education Department on Tuesday, all eligible students seeking admission to undergraduate programmes in Government Colleges must apply only through the centralized online portal.
The notification stated that no admissions will be processed outside the Meghalaya Common Admission Portal system.
The order was issued by Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Education Department, Vijay Kumar Mantri, IAS.
Copies of the notification have been forwarded to various departments and educational authorities, including the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Directorate of School Education and Literacy, Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), and other concerned officials for information and necessary action.
The Education Department has also directed the Web Administrator of the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education to upload the notification on the department’s official website.
