Shillong, May 12: Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya Shakeel P. Ahammed on Tuesday successfully completed the Self-Enumeration process for the House-Listing Operations (HLO) of Census 2027 through the dedicated Self-Enumeration portal.
The Self-Enumeration process for Census 2027 in Meghalaya officially commenced on May 1, 2026, as part of the government’s digital initiative aimed at ensuring efficient and citizen-friendly data collection for the upcoming Census exercise.
Present during the process were Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya and State Nodal Officer for Census 2027 Pooja Pandey, along with Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya and Additional State Nodal Officer Swapnil Tembe.
Officials from the Directorate of Census Operations, Meghalaya, under the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, including Joint Director Subhasish Chatterjee and Deputy Director Aibor Sanglyne, were also present.
According to officials, the self-enumeration process was completed smoothly using the digital portal developed specifically for the House-Listing Operations of Census 2027.
The initiative reflects the government’s focus on leveraging technology to ensure accurate, efficient and streamlined census operations across the state.
