Shillong, May 13: In a proud achievement for Meghalaya, Ms. Nandini Ishvi O. Sangma has been selected to represent India at the 13th Commonwealth Youth Parliament (CYP13) scheduled to be held in Sydney from July 26 to July 31, 2026.
Nandini will represent the country along with five other delegates from different parts of India at the prestigious international programme, which brings together young participants aged between 18 and 29 from Commonwealth nations for parliamentary simulation exercises and leadership training.
A Political Science student of Don Bosco College, Tura, Nandini came into the spotlight after being adjudged the “Best Speaker” during the first-ever Youth Parliament organised in Garo Hills earlier this year.
The Youth Parliament programme was sponsored and organised by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in collaboration with Tura Christian College and was held at the District Auditorium, Tura, on March 2 and 3, 2026.
The Commonwealth Youth Parliament aims to provide exposure and training to young people aspiring for leadership and public office by familiarising them with parliamentary procedures, governance, legislative debates and democratic practices through simulated parliamentary sessions and interactive discussions.
