Meghalaya Athletes Win Big at NPC Regional Assam 2026, Bring Home Multiple Medals

Shillong, June 2 : Athletes from Meghalaya delivered an outstanding performance at the NPC Regionals 2026 (Mr. & Miss Assam Championship) and other NPC events held in Assam, securing multiple gold and silver medals and showcasing the state’s growing prominence in bodybuilding and fitness sports.

The championship was held at the Dudhnoi Janamandir Auditorium in Assam on May 30, 2026, where participants from Meghalaya impressed judges and spectators alike with their dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit.

The Meghalaya Strength and Aesthetics Association (MSAA) congratulated all medal winners and participants from East Khasi Hills and Garo Hills for representing the state with pride and professionalism. The association stated that the athletes’ achievements reflect not only individual excellence but also the collective efforts of coaches, mentors, gym owners, and supporters who have played a vital role in developing the sport across the state.

Among the top performers was Wilynder Khonglam, who won the Gold Medal in the Bodybuilding Heavyweight Category, while Atlanta D. Shira secured Gold in the Men’s Classic Physique (Tall) Category. Atlanta also added a Silver Medal in the Bodybuilding Super Heavyweight Category to his impressive tally.

Other medal winners included Bansaman Pyrbot, who claimed Silver in the Bodybuilding Lightweight CategoryBishal Rai, who secured Silver in Junior Men’s Physique, and Arjun Basfor, who won Silver in the Men’s Best Physique Category.

In the women’s division, Anita Boro Sawkmie emerged as the Overall Champion in the Women’s Bikini Category, bringing further glory to Meghalaya.

Speaking on the achievement, NPC Meghalaya stated that the victories are a reflection of the athletes’ hard work, sacrifice, and determination.
