NFSA ration card beneficiaries urged to complete eKYC by July 31st

Shillong, July 25: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, has urged all beneficiaries receiving ration under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) within East Khasi Hills District to complete their eKYC verification on or before July 31, 2026.

Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, Abhilash Baranwal, has appealed to all Rangbah Shnongs and Sordar Shnongs overseeing villages within the district to make a clear announcement and urge the public to complete the eKYC verification before the deadline.

He also informed that beneficiaries who wish to enrol or link their Aadhaar can do so through Fair Price Shops (FPS). The office of the DC (Supply) will also depute officials to facilitate Aadhaar enrolment for the public, with the aim of ensuring that ration cards are fully linked with Aadhaar.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, E.L. Warjri, urged beneficiaries to visit their nearest Fair Price Shop or the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, carrying their NFSA Ration Card—either Priority Household (PHH) or Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)—along with their Aadhaar Card to complete the verification process.

Superintendent of Supply, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, Richard Nongkhlaw, stated that eKYC is essential for NFSA beneficiaries to accurately identify genuine beneficiaries as per the provisions of the scheme and to streamline the distribution of foodgrains through ePOS machines.
