Traffic Restrictions Announced for Sohra Half Marathon on September 4

Shillong, September 2: The East Khasi Hills Traffic Police has announced traffic restrictions along the route to Sohra on September 4 in view of the 5th Sohra International Half Marathon.

According to a press release issued by Superintendent of Police (Traffic), East Khasi Hills, Dr. Hari Prasanth M.R., IPS, the marathon will start from Laitsohpliah and conclude at Mawsmai View Point, Sohra.

All types of vehicles travelling towards Sohra will be staggered at Umtyngar Bridge and at every junction leading towards Sohra from 4:30 am onwards until the marathon is completed.

The Shillong Traffic Police has urged the public to plan their journeys towards Sohra accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Emergency service vehicles, however, will be allowed to ply and will be facilitated during the period of traffic regulation.

The Traffic Police has also expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to commuters due to the restrictions.
