Nongstoin, October 3: The Inquiry Committee probing allegations of irregularities in the recruitment of Staff Nurses at MCH Hospital, Nongstoin, has invited shortlisted candidates to come forward and record their statements or submit complaints regarding the selection process. The two-member committee, comprising the Executive Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills District, is examining allegations of irregularities, illegal gratification, bribery, extortion and coercion linked to the recruitment process.
Candidates who allegedly faced demands for money, extortion, coercion or any other irregularity before, during or after the interview process have been asked to appear before the committee and provide statements or written complaints. They may also submit corroborative evidence, wherever available, including audio or video recordings, message logs and details of financial transactions.
The committee will record statements from October 5 to October 9, 2026, between 10 am and 4 pm, at Room No. 108, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin. The Inquiry Committee has assured that the identities of candidates appearing as witnesses, as well as their testimonies, will be kept strictly confidential to protect them from victimisation or harassment.
The committee has urged the candidates concerned to cooperate with the inquiry and provide relevant information or evidence to help ensure that the recruitment process is fair, transparent and based on merit.
