Shillong, May 18: The Oil Industry has assured the public that the availability of essential petroleum products, including Petrol (MS), Diesel (HSD) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), remains normal and uninterrupted across Meghalaya.
According to the State Level Coordinator for Oil Industry, Meghalaya-cum-Manager (LPG-Sales), Shillong Area, Indian Oil Corporation, the supply of fuel through Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies — Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) — continues to remain stable and adequate throughout the state.
The Oil Industry informed that the entire fuel supply chain, from terminals and depots to retail outlets, is functioning efficiently without any disruption. Fuel stocks are being continuously monitored, while replenishment activities are progressing smoothly across all locations in Meghalaya.
It was further stated that LPG supplies to domestic consumers are being prioritised and remain normal across the state. Officials said the situation is being closely monitored to ensure uninterrupted delivery to consumers.
The Oil Industry also said that close coordination is being maintained on logistics, stock movement and retail operations to ensure seamless availability of fuel across the region.
Appealing to the public to continue normal consumption patterns, the Oil Industry reassured citizens that there is no cause for concern and urged consumers to avoid panic buying. The public was also advised to rely only on official communications from Oil Marketing Companies for accurate and verified information regarding fuel availability.
