Shillong, May 19: Fuel prices in Meghalaya have witnessed another increase, raising concerns over inflation and the rising cost of living for the common people.
According to the latest revised selling prices effective from 6 AM on May 19, petrol and diesel rates have been increased again across the state.
The latest hike includes an increase of ₹0.74 per litre for MS Petrol, ₹0.79 per litre for High-Speed Diesel (HSD), and ₹0.75 per litre for SPEED petrol.
Following the revision, the retail selling price of petrol in Meghalaya has touched ₹99.63 per litre, while diesel is now priced at ₹90.94 per litre. SPEED petrol is being sold at ₹107.22 per litre.
The continued increase in fuel prices is expected to have a direct impact on transportation costs, essential commodities and overall market prices, with concerns mounting over rising inflation.
Observers said repeated hikes in fuel prices could further burden the common man, as increasing transportation and logistics expenses are likely to affect daily household expenditure and the prices of goods and services across sectors.
