Tura, March 11 : The District Administration of West Garo Hills has ordered the closure of all government offices, sub-divisional offices and Block Development Offices functioning within the district until further notice due to the prevailing law and order situation.
According to an order issued by Deputy Commissioner Vibhor Aggarwal, IAS, the decision has been taken in view of the ongoing curfew and the tense situation in the district.
However, the order states that offices providing essential emergency services will remain operational. In addition, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Tura, will continue to function to facilitate election-related processes and coordination related to law and order.
The order has come into effect immediately and will remain in force until further notification, the administration said.
