Shillong, August 16 : Bethany Hospitals will close its Outpatient Department (OPD) services across its locations in Shillong, Nongpoh, Umsning, and Byrnihat tomorrow, the 17th of August, 2024 , in a show of solidarity with the medical fraternity following the recent incident in Kolkata. This decision is part of a Nationwide Withdrawal of Services called by Indian Medical Association, uniting healthcare professionals across the country in a collective stand for the safety and respect of doctors.
In addition to the OPD closure, its hospitals are organizing a candlelight vigil this evening at 6:00 PM on their premises in Shillong and Nongpoh. The vigil is a peaceful demonstration of support for our fellow healthcare professionals and a call for greater protection and respect for those who dedicate their lives to saving others.
While OPD services will be unavailable tomorrow, Bethany Hospitals emphasize that all emergency services will remain fully operational. The hospital is committed to continuing the provision of urgent and essential care to those in need.
