Shillong, January 22 : A Sector Commander-level coordination meeting between the Border Security Force (BSF) of India and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) took place today near the international border, adjacent to the area of responsibility of the 193 Bn BSF. The meeting aimed to enhance bilateral relations, improve coordination, and address various issues related to border management.
The BSF delegation was led by Sh. Manoj Kumar Barnwal, DIG, Sector HQ BSF Shillong, while the BGB delegation was headed by Md. Saiful Islam Chowdhury, Deputy Director General and Sector Commander of BGB, Sylhet, Bangladesh.
Discussions during the meeting focused on the Coordinated Border Management Plan and other matters of mutual interest to both forces. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the productive and amicable discussions, which reflected the friendly relations between the two countries. The commanders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a secure and peaceful border environment and commended the ongoing efforts of their respective forces in preserving tranquility in the region.
The meeting concluded with a positive outlook, with both parties agreeing to continue holding regular coordination meetings in the future to ensure ongoing cooperation and the effective management of border operations.
