Shillong, May 1 : The price of commercial LPG cylinders has been increased, according to an official announcement, bringing additional cost pressure on businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and small enterprises.
As per the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been raised, with the new rates coming into effect immediately across major cities. The exact hike varies slightly depending on location due to local taxes and transportation costs.
Officials stated that the revision is part of routine price adjustments influenced by global crude oil rates, currency fluctuations, and market dynamics. The increase is expected to impact operational costs in the hospitality and food service sectors, which rely heavily on commercial LPG for daily operations.
Meanwhile, there has been no change announced in the price of domestic LPG cylinders at this time.
Industry stakeholders have expressed concern over the rising input costs, noting that repeated price hikes could lead to increased prices for consumers in the coming weeks.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation, with further revisions likely depending on international energy trends and domestic economic factors.
