East Khasi Hills Invites Nominations for Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards 2026

Shillong, May 5: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, has invited nominations for the prestigious Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards 2026, instituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

According to an official press release, the awards are conferred in recognition of meritorious acts of bravery and humane nature in saving lives during incidents such as drowning, accidents, fire, electrocution, landslides, animal attacks, and rescue operations in mines. The award honours individuals who risk their lives to save others.

The Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards are presented in three categories — Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, and Jeevan Raksha Padak.

Eligible individuals from East Khasi Hills District who wish to be considered for the award have been asked to submit their nominations to the Deputy Commissioner’s office on or before June 3, 2024. Detailed information regarding the nomination process is available on the district’s official website.

The notification was issued by Deputy Commissioner R.M. Kurbah, urging deserving candidates to come forward for recognition of their acts of courage and service to humanity.
