Shillong, October 01 : The Governor of Meghalaya, Phagu Chauhan today led a cleaning drive in and around the premises of Raj Bhavan, Shillong.
The cleanliness initiative was organized in response to Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’, to mark the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti. This initiative is a run-up to the ‘Swachhata Pakhwada- Swachhata Hi Seva’ 2023 campaign.
Dr. B D R Tiwari, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, Government of Meghalaya along with officers and staff of Raj Bhavan took part in the cleaning drive.
The Governor highlighted the importance of cleanliness and sanitation, and urged everyone to contribute to making the nation clean and healthy. He also appreciated the efforts of the officers and staff of Raj Bhavan for their participation in the cleaning drive.
The cleaning drive is a commendable initiative by the Governor, and it sets a good example for others to follow. It is also a reminder of the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and healthy.
