Shillong, 29th March, 2023: The Hill State Peoples Democratic Party (HSPDP) last Sunday discussed at length about the Reservation Policy issue, which was part of their Election Manifesto.
While speaking to the Press, K P Pangniang, the President of the HSPDP said, ” we should not forget that the issue of the Reservation Policy was a part of our Election Manifesto, and we will work to improve upon it so as to benefit our young people. The HSPDP will work hand in hand with the MDA-II, and as a party we shall debate and inform the Government and the Chief Minister of the difficulties of the present Policy”. He further stated that the Party has instructed their people viz. Shakliar Warjri and Methodius Dkhar to take the decisions of the Party to the meeting of the MDA Government.
With regard to the demand for a separate Hill State, the HSPDP and the Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC) have constituted a Co-ordination Committee to discuss things further.
