July Salaries of VB-GRAM-G/VB-REGLMS Staff to Be Released Within Two Days: State Clarifies

Shillong, August 4: The State Rural Employment Society (SRES) under the Community & Rural Development Department has clarified that the salaries of all former MGNREGA staff, now working under VB-GRAM-G/VB-REGLMS, for the month of July 2026 will be released within the next two days.

In a press release, Mission Director Sibhi Chakravarthy Sadhu, IAS, said the delay in releasing salaries, TA/DA and other administrative payments arose following the repeal of MGNREGA and the implementation of VB-GRAM-G/VB-REGLMS in Meghalaya.

The department stated that the sanctions for the administrative component have now been received from the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), enabling the release of July salaries.

Regarding pending salaries for the period between April and June 2026 (or May to June 2026 in some cases), the department said it is coordinating with the MoRD for the early release of salaries, TA/DA and other administrative dues up to June 30, 2026.

The statement added that if the central sanctions are not received soon, the State Government will provide interim relief using its own resources. It noted that a similar arrangement had been made during 2025, when salaries for one to two months were paid through State resources.

The department further informed that salary payments have already been cleared up to March 2026, and in some districts up to April 2026. Efforts are currently underway to settle all remaining pending dues at the earliest.
