Shillong, October 09 : The official poster for this year’s much-awaited KCF 2023 has just been unveiled, and it is truly a tribute to the unwavering spirit and resilience of Meghalaya’s women. This year’s theme, “Women and Environment” is beautifully represented through the poignant image of Sneho Dkhar Tmar, a local woman, whose powerful gaze became the face of this year’s festival.
This recognition is not just for Sneho but the countless women of the region who remain the unsung heroes of the community. They personify ‘Ka Mei Ramew’ or ‘Mother Earth’ in the Khasi tradition, breathing life and nurturing the community, its traditions, customs, folklores and folk tales, just as the Earth nurtures life.
As we inch closer to the anticipated dates of the festival, 9th, 10th and 11th November, we pay homage to our women and anticipate a celebration filled with cultural pride.
The countdown has officially begun! The festival will be held at U Soso Tham Auditorium next month. Entries are free, making this an inclusive festivity, heartily welcoming everyone. Come and show your support for our women, our culture, and our community!
