Shillong, February 04 : ,Shillong Lajong resumed their I-League campaign with a 1-0 loss against Inter Kashi at the SSA Stadium inShillong on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
Lajong started well and dominated by maintaining possession. However, it was Inter Kashi who took the lead in the 23rd minute through their Dutch forward Gianni Miguel Dos Santos. Stung by the goal, Lajongpiled pressure on Inter Kashi and went on to create many scoring opportunities but a lack of sharpness infront of goal hurt them as they were not able to convert their chances.
At the end of full time it was Inter Kashi who made the most of their chances and grabbed the three points.The win helped Inter Kashi climb to the sixth spot in the points table with 18 points from 12 matches. They have won five matches, drawn three games, and suffered four losses. Lajong remained in the fifth spot with 19 points from 12 matches.
Lajong will now look forward to focus on their next game which is away from home against Gokulam Kerala on Monday, February 12, 7pm kickoff time at the EMS Corporation Stadium, Kozhikode.
