Tura, March 10 : The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has postponed two papers of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination 2026 in West Garo Hills due to the prevailing volatile situation in the district.
According to an official notification issued by MBOSE, the HSSLC examination scheduled on March 11, 2026 for Anthropology and March 12, 2026 for Music have been cancelled in West Garo Hills district only. The Board stated that the affected examinations will be rescheduled on new dates, which will be announced later.
However, the Board clarified that examinations in all other districts of Meghalaya will continue as per the existing schedule.
The notification was issued by T.R. Laloo, Director (Accreditation) and Controller of Examinations of MBOSE, from the Board’s office in Tura.
The decision was taken as a precautionary measure in view of the law and order situation in West Garo Hills, ensuring the safety of students and examination staff.
Authorities have advised candidates and institutions in the district to stay updated with further announcements regarding the new examination dates.
