The Meghalaya Cabinet convened today, May 17, 2023, to discuss and approve several proposals that will have a significant impact on the state. Among the key decisions made by the cabinet was the approval to rename Lady Hydari Park to Ka Phan Nonglait Park.
In addition to the renaming of the park, the cabinet also approved the creation of posts for Shillong Public Hr. Sec. School and the State NSS Cell as mandated by the Government of India. The Meghalaya State Food Commission Rules 2014 were also amended to align the tenure of the Chairman with the national-level rules.
The cabinet also approved the enhancement of cash grants to recipients from Gallantry and Distinguished Award Winners of Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel of the state. The Meghalaya State Wakf Board Rules 2023 were also approved, along with the Meghalaya State Policy on Construction & Demolition Wastes 2021.
These decisions are expected to have a positive impact on the citizens of Meghalaya and will contribute to the state’s growth and development.
