Shillong, August 4: The Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has contributed ₹1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support the neighbouring state during a challenging period.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged the contribution on Tuesday and expressed gratitude to Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and the people of Meghalaya for extending their support. “On behalf of the people of Assam, I convey my sincere gratitude to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and the people of Meghalaya for standing with us in this challenging time,” Sarma said.
He described the contribution as a reflection of the enduring solidarity among the northeastern states, which continue to support one another during difficult times. Sarma said the gesture demonstrated the close bond shared by the sister states of the region and their commitment to stand by each other in times of need.
