Tura, January 15 : In a thrilling showcase of skill and determination, the Men’s Football teams representing Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills District secured notable victories today at the 5th Meghalaya Games. The matches unfolded at the Chandmari Football Ground in Tura, adding an extra layer of excitement to the ongoing sporting event.
The Ri Bhoi football team exhibited an impressive performance, triumphing over East Jaintia Hills with a convincing 3-0 scoreline. The goals were skillfully netted by Riskhem Syiem, Jefree Kyrsain, and N. Syngkli, showcasing their prowess on the field.
In an intense clash between the two Garo Hills districts, West Garo Hills emerged victorious with a resounding 7-0 win against South Garo Hills. The scorers for West Garo Hills included Baltimas K Marak, Nangrim M Sangma, Dimsrang Ch Sangma, R. D Sangma, and Kim Kim D Sangma, with R. D Sangma and Kim Kim D Sangma securing a brace each.
