Shillong, September 23 : Nazareth Hospital, Shillong, in collaboration with the Department of Health, today organised a series of programmes under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA), a nationwide initiative aimed at empowering women through better health and promoting family well-being.
The hospital premises hosted awareness programmes, health screening camps, and adolescent health activities, spreading vital information on preventive healthcare and the importance of women’s health in ensuring strong and healthy families.
Officials highlighted that women’s wellness is key to strengthening families, and urged participants to adopt regular health check-ups and balanced lifestyles.
Adding a community-oriented dimension, a dedicated health screening camp for taxi drivers was set up at Nongrah, offering preventive check-ups and essential health services. This effort addressed the specific healthcare needs of drivers, who often face long working hours and limited access to medical care.
