Shillong, November 17 : With a commitment to provide best medical care to the patients in North East region, NEIGRIHMS inaugurated the latest equipment -Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL). NEIGRIHMS has been providing ESWL services, a non-invasive technique for breaking kidney stones since 2013, with the
installation of new & latest Dornier Delta III Pro version of ESWL equipment patients will be treated more effectively.
Director NEIGRIHMS, Prof. Nalin Mehta inaugurated the equipment at the Department of Urology on 15th November 2025. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Mehta said that this equipment is third such installation in India. Prof. Mehta Congratulated the department of Urology for their efforts in improving health care for patients with such ailments. Prof. Mehta further added that the equipment will not only provide latest care to patients with kidney stones but will also be used for training of doctors from other states of the NER with the objective of capacity building in the region.
