Pine Mount HSS Concludes Sports Week with Grand Finale; Rymbui Stresses Positive Mindset

Shillong, April 30 : Pine Mount Higher Secondary School celebrated the grand finale of its week-long Sports Week with enthusiasm and vibrant participation from students, teachers, and invited schools.

Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. The event was also graced by the Principal of Pine Mount Higher Secondary School, along with principals and representatives from several institutions including Step by Step School, St Edmund’s School, Shillong Public School, and other dignitaries, parents, and well-wishers.

The Sports Week saw active participation from both host and invited schools such as Seven Set Higher Secondary School, Shillong Public School, Step by Step School, and St. Edmund’s School. Students competed in various athletic events including 100m and 200m races, relay races, and other track and field competitions for both boys and girls. Winners were honoured with medals and certificates.

Addressing the gathering, Rymbui highlighted the importance of maintaining happiness and a positive mindset among students. He said that while academic excellence remains important, a supportive and joyful school environment plays a key role in shaping confident individuals.

He further urged students to stay mentally strong and not give in to peer pressure, encouraging them to recognise their uniqueness and pursue their own paths.

“Positivity is not only about success; it is about how we approach life and challenges. A happy and positive mindset will always guide you towards a successful future,” the minister said.

Rymbui also called upon teachers, parents, and the community to work collectively in nurturing young minds and building a better society.

A major highlight of the programme was the impressive march past by students, which was reviewed by the Chief Guest, who appreciated the discipline and coordination displayed.

The event also featured colourful cultural performances by students, adding vibrancy to the celebration and showcasing their talents.

The programme concluded on a high note, celebrating not just sporting excellence but also unity, discipline, and the holistic development of students.
