Tura, March 11 : In a successful anti-narcotics operation conducted on the night of March 9th, 2024, police apprehended four individuals in possession of banned substances.
Narcotic operation was conducted at Balalgre, DamalgrePolice Station jurisdiction and four (4) person namely Chanchu M Marak (Balading, Tura), Santo Bhowmick (Hawakhana, Tura), Raj Barman (Hawakhana, Tura), Topon Das (Singimari, Hallidayganj, West Garo Hills) were apprehended with SPSHEN+ 150 capsules (Tramadol Hydrochloride salt content 7.5 grams), one autorickshaw and three mobile phones.
The joint operation was led by Ravi K. Sangma, DySP(HQ), Ampati, ANTF West Garo Hills, Tura and ANTF, South West Garo Hills, Ampati. The accused persons were bringing the banned psychotropic substances from Mankachar, Assam with intention to sell and distribute across the Garo Hills areas.
These person are habitual offenders and had been arrested earlier in various cases in Garo Hills districts.In this connection, a case vide Damalgre PS Case No. 04(03)2024 U/s 22(b)/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation is on.
