Shillong, September 06: Shillong is gearing up to host its inaugural Inter Office Futsal Tournament, the BIG Futsal Fest, from 10th to 14th September at the Thrive Sports Arena, Lankyrding. Organized by BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, the event is supported by prominent entities from both the government and private sectors, including the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, and Maruti Suzuki Arena. This tournament marks an exciting milestone in the region’s sporting calendar, bringing together the city’s offices for a celebration of futsal.
BIG FM aims to harness this excitement by creating a festival of competition, friendly rivalry, and sportsmanship, all while promoting the importance of sport for health and well-being. The event is expected to draw large crowds of working professionals eager to support their teams. The BIG Futsal Fest will feature sixteen government and corporate offices, all competing in a knockout-style tournament. Teams will battle through a series of intense and thrilling matches, with the grand finale scheduled for 14th September, where the top two teams will face off for the title of Shillong’s first-ever Inter Office Futsal champion.
Football celebrities such as Eugeneson Lyngdoh and Samuel Shadap have lent their endorsement to the BIG Futsal Fest, further boosting the event’s profile. With strong backing from government departments, private enterprises and local entrepreneurs, the BIG Futsal Fest promises to be an exciting addition to Shillong’s growing sports scene.

Local event management company LightsacpeMe Event Production has been entrusted with overseeing the event, ensuring it offers a memorable experience for both players and spectators.
