Resubelpara, April 27: A court in North Garo Hills has convicted three individuals in connection with a case involving voluntarily causing hurt and criminal trespass, sentencing each to over four years of imprisonment.
According to a press release issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Police, North Garo Hills, the judgment was delivered on April 10, 2026, by the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court in Resubelpara. The accused—identified as Hamton D. Shira, Clinton D. Shira, and Iksrang D. Shira—were found guilty under Sections 323 and 447 of the Indian Penal Code.
The court sentenced each of the convicted persons to a total of four years and three months of simple imprisonment.
The case was originally registered at the Women Police Station, Mendipathar, under Case No. 08(08)2020, invoking Sections 447, 325, 354, and 34 IPC. Police officials stated that sustained investigation efforts by officers and staff played a key role in securing the conviction.
Authorities noted that the court’s ruling reflects the effectiveness of the investigation and reaffirmed the commitment of the police in ensuring justice in criminal cases.
