Traffic Curbs, Parking Arrangements Announced for Presbyterian Church Event at JN Stadium

Shillong, May 1 : The East Khasi Hills Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the Biennial Meeting and Centenary Jubilee Celebration of the Presbyterian Church of India to be held at JN Stadium, Polo on May 3.

According to the press release, several traffic regulations and diversions will be enforced from 7:00 AM onwards until the event concludes to manage congestion in and around Polo and adjoining areas.

Key restrictions include no entry from Lumjingshai junction towards CRPF junction and Forest Colony, as well as no entry from Golflinks tri-junction towards Polo. Movement from 4th Furlong and Pynthorumkhrah Bazaar towards Wahumkhrah Bridge will also be restricted. Vehicles will be diverted through alternative routes including Lawmali, Mawroh tri-junction, CS junction, and B.K. Bajoria junction.

Authorities also announced that the current “no entry” restriction at Wahumkhrah Bridge will be lifted temporarily, allowing vehicles to move towards Pynthorumkhrah Bazaar.

In addition, extensive parking arrangements have been made across multiple locations including SRGT Parking Lot, Golflinks ground, Mawroh ground, Lawmali Playground, Polo Shopping Mall premises, MeECL campus, Additional Secretariat area, and several roadside stretches across the city.

The traffic police have urged the public to follow the advisories and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth traffic management during the event.
