Two Stolen Motorcycles Recovered in Amlarem, Two More Intercepted at Dawki

Jowai, August 25 : West Jaintia Hills Police have recovered two motorcycles reported stolen from Assam and intercepted two more suspected stolen motorcycles in separate operations conducted in Amlarem and Dawki.

According to a police press release, an Amlarem Police Station naka team intercepted two motorcycles at Ladjaplem on August 24 following specific information regarding suspected stolen vehicles.

The motorcycles, bearing registration numbers AS-01FK-3482 and AS-26A-9873, were being ridden by Pynshngai Jyrwa, 23, a resident of Umsning, Lasharai, Mawkhan in Ri-Bhoi district, and Rijiedstar Shylla, 27, of Umsning, Sohkyndur, Ri-Bhoi district.

Police said verification revealed that both motorcycles had been reported stolen from Changsari in Assam, where a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) had been registered.

On August 25, the two motorcycles and the two persons apprehended were handed over to Changsari Police Station in Assam for further legal action.

In a separate operation on August 24, a team from Dawki Police Station intercepted two more motorcycles bearing registration numbers NL-07EB-8467 and AS-05S-3378 along with two riders.

Police said the two motorcycles are currently being kept at Dawki Police Station for further verification.

West Jaintia Hills Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and ensure that their vehicles are properly secured. People have also been asked to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police unit or by dialling 112.
