U-23 Women’s T20 Trophy 2025-26: Meghalaya take victory vs Manipur

Shillong, November 26: Meghalaya defeated Manipur by 19 runs in their second match of the U-23 Women’s T20 Trophy 2025-26 plate group in Agartala yesterday (Tuesday).

Reduced to 9 overs a side, Suriti Kumari Ray’s 33 not out from 24 balls led Meghalaya to post 69/5 and they were then able to bowl out Manipur for 50 in 8.5 overs.

Suriti struck four fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 137.50 after Meghalaya lost the toss and were made to bat first.

Manipur’s Niruta top-scored in the chase with 11 before she was dismissed by Nerisa Nongrum (2/21), who also dismissed Barkatun for 9. Sara D Kharbani (1/5) claimed the wicket of Kebriya, who was out for a duck.

Apart from these, the remaining seven wickets all fell to run outs as Manipur searched in vain for the required runs. Indariakor Kharwanniang accounted for three run outs alone, while Ritreki Pohshna, Janika Marak, Abiezer Kharsyiem and Suriti were responsible for one each.

Meghalaya lost their opening match to Pondicherry by 140 runs on Monday but this win against Manipur is a result that the team can build on going forwards. Meghalaya’s third T20 will be versus Arunachal Pradesh in Agartala on Thursday.
